Rural Fiction Magazine (RFM) was established to explore the beauty and drama of rural life around the world. To date, we have had readers from at least forty-six nations. Rural Fiction Magazine seeks primarily mainstream/literary stories and poetry set in rural areas around the globe. Although we may take occasional forays into diverse genres, all works we publish will be related in some fashion to rural areas.
RFM wants to develop talent, measuring it in a fair and equitable way to find hidden and disadvantaged talent in a world where not everybody has an equal chance to exhibit their abilities. The only criterium for publication is talent in the use of English and in developing outstanding stories. RFM wants to see diversity in writing from around the world, from all time zones. RFM respects everyone’s voice and strives to create a culture in which people from all cultures, races, and backgrounds feel encouraged to express their ideas and perspectives.
